Website Design

Beautiful websites, designed to perform

For so many businesses, a website is the first impression that potential customers get of you, and we all know that first impressions count!

But a website is more than just a place for you to feature your products, or services. It is also a great platform for you to use to drive inbound enquiries for business, for example a website designed for a law firm could attract new clients if built in the right way.

Now-a-days, just ‘having’ a website, isn’t enough.

Why an optimised website is important

Never before have we known so much about users behaviour, buying cycles and the psychology of sales. All of this insight can be combined and applied into a website that quickly out-performs your competitors.

A website shouldn’t ever be built, and then left to die. It’s never a ‘job done’.

When you build a website with KAYBE we use a wide range of tools to measure engagement of visitors, and then make recommendations for further change.

We can also help you keep an eye on what your competitors are doing and make recommendations for changes to keep you ahead of the game.

Our aim is to lunch you from good, to great – and keep you there!

Your questions, answered

Good question; one which we hear more than you may think.

This really depends on what your requirements are. A website with just a one off design that you plan to host will be low cost, however, if you’re looking for a website with dynamic capabilities, a customer portal or an online shop, where we then also take care of the ongoing hosting and maintenance then this could be towards the higher end of a budget.

We are familiar with working with a wide range of budgets, so don’t let that put you off. We like to get things up off the ground, and then develop further when your budget permits.

There are two ways of approaching this, which depends on if you have an existing website and if so, how much of it you want to keep.
We have summarised the broad approach below.

Existing Website:

  • Define the look and feel of the new website, along with any features and functionality
  • Depending on the size and complexity, we may start by creating a wireframe of your website, which means mapping out the journey a user would take when visiting your website.
  • Design pages within a separate instance of your current website.
  • Map across existing content.
  • Point visitors to the new website.
  • Point old links that may no longer be used to relevant pages on your new website.
  • Build and agree a plan to look after, maintain and keep your new website up to date.

New Website:

  • Define the look and feel of the new website, along with any features and functionality
  • Depending on the size and complexity, we may start by creating a wireframe of your website, which means mapping out the journey a user would take when visiting your website.
  • Design pages, taking into consideration the look and feel that you want to achieve.
  • If you are wanting us to work on the content, then we will start creating the content to fit within the pages we build. If you are providing the content, then we will send across the designs for you to work with.
  • Launch you new website!
  • If you choose for us to manage your SEO and general search visibility then we would start working on the agreed strategy for SEO.

Sure, it’s easy to just say yes to this, but we want to do what is right by our customers, however we will hold our hands up here and admit this question has more questions that need answering before we can provide you with our advice on either having a new website or enhancing your existing one.

Firstly we would need to understand what you are wanting to achieve. For example, if you are wanting to increase traffic we may look at optimising your current website for search, however if you are looking to increase conversions of products you currently sell on your website then we may look at optimising your existing conversions.

Simply put, a responsive website design is a website that is optimised for mobile devices. This is the same for a responsive web page.

Yes, most websites these days can be viewed from a mobile device, but if you are having to scroll from left to right, and pinching the screen to zoom in or out then it is likely that you are viewing a website that is not optimised for a mobile screen.

We take great care in building each of our pages to work for mobile screens, as we want every user to have a great experience regardless of what device they are viewing from.

Did you know?
Typically 50% of website traffic comes from mobile devices(!)

We don’t use software that optimises on bulk. Instead we build each page with mobile in mind, that way we can be sure of the output and quality for every page. Neat, huh!

That old saying… if we had £1 for every time someone say’s ‘I have a friend that can do that’ we’d be… well, rich.

As users, we expect more from websites than ever before. As businesses, we expect to see an ROI. Thankfully the two go hand in glove. A good accountant should be able to pay for their selves. The same can be said for a website. If it is well-built, optimised and launched correctly, then then it too will pay for itself.

As part of our pitch to you, we aim to put an ROI together. This could be based on soft measures and assumptions such as increased phone calls to your business through to detailed returns based on existing site performance.

Simply put, would all this be considered if you did this in house? If it was, then great – but have you got the talent in house or ability for the whole project to be viewed with fresh eyes?
